FBC Weston Youth Group |
|
FBC Weston's Youth Group is back and we had a great first night. We shared a meal and fellowship around the Word together. BIG thanks to The Hospitality Team for dinner. We began a series through the book of James by reading through the entire letter out loud as a group. Then we discussed the gravity of the words expressed from James in his opening greeting to the church. We will continue to gather every Sunday from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Are you interested in providing a meal for the Youth Group? If so, please contact Pastor Ricky and we will get you into rotation. Also, if you have questions about FBC Weston's Youth Group let us know. We would love to connect with you and get your student plugged in! |

Pastor's Pen |
Brothers & Sisters,
On a personal note, yesterday was very bittersweet. It is hard to trust in the kind providence of God when it comes to people. Zane & Katie came into all of our lives for a very sweet but short season and they are going to be missed. I am always reminded of what Luke tells us about Paul's departure from Ephesus.
“And when he had said these things, he knelt down and prayed with them all. And there was much weeping on the part of all; they embraced Paul and kissed him, being sorrowful most of all because of the word he had spoken, that they would not see his face again. And they accompanied him to the ship.” -Acts 20:36-38 ESV
As hard as it is to tell those we love goodbye when they follow the call of God away we also know that God will use them to bless others in the same way they did us. Look at Paul's ministry. He left from Ephesus and continued to win the world to Jesus. We have 3/4 of the New Testament because the church didn't see themselves as a holding tank. I've said it from day one of my time here, "We will raise up and send out our best!" Yesterday, we got the opportunity to put that into practice!
Zane & Katie, you will be greatly missed but we send you out in prayer as missionaries. We know you will make much of Jesus wherever you are and we look forward to watching that unfold.
May the Lord bless you as you go, |
