If you have the YouVersion Bible app this is the verse of the day, “But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” -Lamentations‬ ‭3‬:‭21‬-‭23‬ ‭ESV‬‬

It reminded me of this photo I snapped while on an early walk this morning. Notice that the clause begins with a coordinating conjunction (if you didn't know that.. neither did I, I looked it up). This means that there's a whole lot of context that comes before it. I'll let you go read it for yourselves but it comes after a lot of lament. I want to encourage you this day; we have hope. The love of the Lord is steadfast, meaning it remains in fixed position. His love never ceases, meaning it has no end. The love of God is not on a tap He turns off when we fail Him. No, it flows from an unbending waterfall of mercy. His faithfulness to us does not end when we are unfaithful to Him. There is our hope. Receive it. Share it with others. Have a blessed week!

Beginning Monday, August 31, 2026 FBC Weston's Office Hours will be changing. Pastor Ricky will hold regular Office Hours Tuesday-Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and Pastor Daniel will hold regular Office Hours from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday-Thursday unless otherwise noted. Notifications of church and office closures will come through regular forms of communication. While these hours are for working on administrative duties, sermon preparation, and Sunday morning service planning these are also the hours for welcomed drop-ins and/or meetings. 

Pastor Ricky will be moving his day off to Mondays to spend time resting with family and will be unavailable with the exception of emergency pastoral needs. While the Church Office will remain closed on Fridays Pastor Ricky will be available by appointment and/or digital means. 

Now that the school year is kicked off we wanted to remind you of an ongoing ministry happing at West Platte. Mitch & Bailee Giger help to lead the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and are always open to ongoing partnership. If you would like to help provide for this wonderful ministry to students at West Platte please contact the Gigers to see how you can contribute!

Applefest is just around the corner and each year we move our Worship Service to 9:00 a.m. to allow everyone time to beat the incoming traffic home. Please note that on Sunday, October 5th we will not have Sunday School and our Worship Serivce will be held at 9:00 a.m. Enjoy Applefest! 

FBC Weston's Parking Lot will be utilized by the shuttle service into town on Saturday, October 4th and Sunday, October 5th. 

This past week we kicked off the Missouri Missions Offering. If you are unfamiliar with MMO, this is a special offering that stays within our state's missional work. Here are just a few examples of how this funding has been utilized: 

"Jayme Milam and his Fellowship Baptist Church FAITH Riders used an MBC Prayer & Evangelism Grant to host a gospel outreach event in Sikeston, resulting in 32 professions of faith.

The Missouri Baptist Children’s Home helped a young woman and her son bridge the gap from homelessness to hope through its Stronger Family Services.

And despite suffering the effects of a brain tumor, Larry Lierman volunteered with Missouri Baptist Disaster Relief to help repair a woman’s house destroyed by flooding.

All of this – and much more – is possible because Missouri Baptists give faithfully to the Rheubin L. South Missouri Missions Offering (MMO). The annual state missions offering supports more than two dozen ministries, including Christian foster care, disaster relief, church renewal, and other projects that help churches transform lives and communities with the gospel."

The theme of this year’s offering is drawn from Philippians 1:5, where Paul thanks God for every memory of his Philippian brothers and sisters because of their “partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.”

Reflecting on this passage, MBC Executive Director Wes Fowler noted, “Like Christians in Philippi, Missouri Baptists have the privilege of being partners in the gospel with one another by contributing to God’s work across our state.”

Last year, 671 Missouri Baptist churches supported MMO, giving $952,530, the third-highest level of giving since the offering was introduced in 1985 and far outpacing the goal of $800,000. The 2026 goal is $825,000.
