Applefest Sunday

Applefest is this coming weekend! For the last several years we have moved our Worship Service to 9:00 a.m. to allow folks to get home before the rush of visitor traffic. As members of the Weston Chamber of Commerce we are also offering our parking lot as a shuttle stop. We will only have a worship service at 9:00 a.m. with no Children's Ministry. We will not have Sunday School classes that morning.

Women's Revelation Bible Studies

Thursday Evening Women's Bible Study

A group of women started gathering to study Revelation from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Thursday evenings at the church. If you'd like more information contact Angie Wahlenmaier.

Ladies Daytime Bible Study

The same Study is happening from 9:30-11 a.m. on Wednesday mornings at the church.

Contact Becky Henkel for more details.

Titus 2 Kick-off

Several women at FBC are engaging in TItus 2 Groups. These groups are walking through a book on intentional discipleship among older and younger women in the church. The purpose is to foster an opportunity for spiritual mothering and mentorship among generations.

FBC Weston Annual Chili & Soup Cook-off

Big thank you to the Pospisils for hosting our Second Annual Chili & Soup Cook-off! Congratulations to all of our winners. We're already looking forward to next year. I hear we may be adding a dessert category to the cook-off!

Community Blood Drive

Want a chance to win free Chiefs tickets? We are partnering with the Community Blood Center and will be hosting a Blood Drive on October 25th from 1-5 p.m. Donate blood and save a life!

Outdoor Move Night is Back!

By popular demand we are bringing back the Outdoor Movie Night this year. Invite your friends and family to join us for a night of good fun, food, and fellowship. The entire event is completely FREE and open to any and all who would like to attend.

Family Meeting

Our next Family Meeting is Sunday, October 27th. Please plan on joining us for several updates as well as an opportunity to share in the vision as we look to the future of FBC Weston. There will be a Family Meal following the meeting. Please bring a dish to share!

Child Safety Training

We are partnering with the Missouri Baptist Children's Home to host a child safety training. This is a training that will be beneficial for all current Children's Ministry volunteers and any who have a desire to serve in this vital ministry in our church. This training is open to any and all at FBC Weston who would like to attend, however. We are also opening this training up to the school and any other local organizations that serve children.

The training is FREE to all attendees.

The Lottie Moon Christmas Offering is just around the corner. Sharon Shouse tracked down a book that covers Lottie Moon's missionary work in China. There are a limited number of copies available at the Connection Desk in the Sanctuary. You can also purchase the book yourself by clicking here! We will take the month of October to ready through the book and gather in November to discuss before we kick off our Lottie Moon Christmas Offering. This Book Club is co-ed and open to all in the church. Bring a snack to share!

Mark Your Calendars

We are hosting a Volunteer Appreciation Dinner for all FBC Weston volunteers on November 10th at 5 p.m.

The FBC Weston Children's Ministry Christmas Program is Sunday, December 8th. Christmas Potluck to follow.

FBC Weston Candle Light Christmas Eve service is at 5 p.m. Cookies & Cocoa to follow service.

Pastor's Pen

Brothers & Sisters,

I snapped this photo yesterday. I titled it "Bridging the Gap" and no.. I don't normally title photos I take. Two young people were baptized in this beautiful pond off of 45 Hwy and I was blessed to be a witness it yesterday. My understanding is that at least one of them does not have believing parents. How did this happen? It came about through the ministry efforts of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes which is led by MItch & Bailee Giger alongside other student leaders. It was a really cool moment to hear Mitch pray over these students as a Coach, a Principal, an Elder Candidate at FBC, and a man of Christ. This is another example of what it looks like to be "for the Kingdom and for the community". I am rejoicing that they continue to be there to "bridge the gap"! Join me in praying for these young people as they have now gone public with their salvation and allegiance to Jesus Christ!

Speaking of Kingdom work, the FBC Fall Ministry Calendar sure filled up quickly. Be sure to make note of all the wonderful opportunities for ministry and fellowship. It is shaping up to be a fun season as we move into Fall.

Reminder: Service is at 9:00 a.m. this Sunday. There will be no Sunday School or Children's Ministries. The Nursery & Mother's Room will be open and available but will not be staffed with volunteers. It is also The Lord's Supper Sunday and I am really looking forward to gathering with you!

It is a joy to be on mission with you,
