The Lottie Moon Christmas Offering is just around the corner. Sharon Shouse tracked down a book that covers Lottie Moon's missionary work in China. There are a limited number of copies available at the Connection Desk in the Sanctuary. You can also purchase the book yourself by clicking here! We will take the month of October to ready through the book and gather in November to discuss before we kick off our Lottie Moon Christmas Offering. This Book Club is co-ed and open to all in the church. Bring a snack to share! |

Pastor's Pen |
Brothers & Sisters, I hope you had a great Applefest weekend! Autumn and I were talking this week about how blessed we are to live in such a unique little town. There are many towns all over Missouri, all over the country for that matter, that are on the decline but ours is thriving. We had a lot of fun walking through the streets this weekend heading all the visitors say things like, "Oh, this town is just so great!" Or, "I just love cute little towns like this that have a historic Main Street or square." I even had a couple of opportunities to give directions to some out of town visitors this weekend. I told them a couple of short cuts to take! In many ways I see our church as a microcosm of the town. We continue to grow as a church that loves one another, as a place where people want to gather together, a church that truly feels like family, a church that is genuinely missed between the times we come together. The boys and I had the privilege of riding in a couple of side cars (thanks Jim & Peggy!) and it was really fun to talk with people after. It is a joy to publicly represent FBC Weston and Jesus with you! I kept wanting to tell people, "If you think the town is great, you should check out our church! You'll REALLY want to move here then!" I share all that to say that it is truly a joy to be on this journey with you. Lots of great things coming up. Mark your calendars and plan on joining us! |
