Lottie Moon Christmas Offering

We are setting goal of $2,000 for the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering. Plan on attending our Lottie Moon Book Club to learn more about Lottie Moon's work in China that sparked this special offering that funds missionaries all around the world!

Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child kicks off this Sunday and we will be collecting boxes until November 17th. You can pick up boxes and instructions on ow to fill them at the church. On collection day we will take time to pray over them as we send them out!

Child Safety Training

The Darkness to Light Child Safety Training went really well. A group gathered to learn from representatives from the Missouri Baptist Children's Home about the 5 Steps to Keeping Children Safe in our church. Thanks to all who dedicated an afternoon to this!

Revelation Bible Studies Wrap-Up

Both Women's Bible Study groups gathered at the Slump Residence to wrap up their study of the book of Revelation. Stay tuned for future announcements on Bible studies.

As we kick off the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering we are hosting a book club to help educate the church on her great missionary work. Sharon Shouse tracked down a book that covers Lottie Moon's missionary work in China. There are a limited number of copies available at the Connection Desk in the Sanctuary. You can also purchase the book yourself by clicking here! We will take the month of October to read through the book and gather in November to discuss before we kick off our Lottie Moon Christmas Offering. This Book Club is co-ed and open to all in the church. Bring a snack to share!

All men are invited to join us for Men's Fellowship this coming Friday, November 8th. We will meet in the Fellowship Hall. Food is provided!

Pastor's Pen

Brothers & Sisters,

Autumn snapped this photo yesterday. It was a full house! At one point Shawn and I were singing with the rest of the congregation and both were just really blessed. Thank you for singing with joy to the Lord! You may have been wondering who the woman was that helped lead yesterday! Daniel and I forgot to introduce her. She's an old friend named, Raelynn. She and her family live in Cosby, MO and had a free Sunday and came to worship with us. Raelynn helped lead worship at a church Daniel and I were blessed to serve a number of years ago. Raelynn and her husband, Justin have 5 kiddos; Eddie, Dari, M'Yonna, Zaylan, and Lakelynn. They passed on a thank you for such a warm welcome! And I thank you for being so welcoming!

To re-iterate a point I made yesterday. I know that the candidates we have are far from perfect. No political candidate is for that matter. This is why I struggle to identify myself with a specific political party. If I am totally honest I had a conversation with two different friends about the fears of what is becoming of the Republican Party under its current candidate. If I wasn't totally clear yesterday, I actually concur! With that said, I have to look at what I have in front of me and compare policies, cast my vote for what I believe will do the most good for human flourishing and upholding God's righteousness in our broken world. If I can truly separate myself from the political platform and do that my answer has become more and more clear. While neither of these candidates were my first.. or even second pick this is what I am left with and I know that I cannot, in good conscience, vote for a platform that campaigns on everything that God abhors. I know that this has been a difficult season for many of you. I know that the weight of the election has felt unbearable at times but please be reminded of the truth of what Psalm 5 conveys. No matter who is in the White House, because of the abundance of God's steadfast love we are welcomed into His house! No matter who is in the White House, Jesus is on the throne! Cast your vote Tuesday and trust the rest to God!

“But I, through the abundance of your steadfast love, will enter your house. I will bow down toward your holy temple in the fear of you. Lead me, O Lord, in your righteousness because of my enemies; make your way straight before me.” -Psalm‬ ‭5‬:‭7‬-‭8‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Trusting Him with you,
