Weston's Christmas Tree Lighting |
|
The Chamber of Commerce has asked us to partner with them for this year's Christmas Tree Lighting! This year they are lighting up City Park and they have asked FBC Weston for two things. First, they would love for us to design a light up Nativity Scene on one of the panels of the tennis court in the park. Second, they have asked if we would serve cookies and cocoa on the night of the lighting which is November 22nd. We can wear our "I MY CHURCH" shirts and serve the community. On that note it would be great to have them church turn up in full swing to support this wonderful event our town puts on every year. It would be a bonus if you wore your shirts as well. If you don't have one we have plenty still at the church. If you would like to participate in any of these please contact Pastor Ricky. Riley Watson is designing the Nativity Scene and if you would like to help please feel free to reach out to her! |

Pastor's Pen |
Brothers & Sisters,
I snapped this photo of Becky's Sunday School class outside. Looks like the kids are having a great time and learning a lot. If you did not know we offer Sunday School classes for all ages from birth to adults. If you would like to grow deeper in your knowledge of God's Word I encourage you to check out these classes. We meet every Sunday at 9:45 a.m.
I hope you were as encouraged by yesterday as I was. The service was wonderful. I want to encourage you to join me in praying for Luke & Makayla and the whole family as they seek to minister to the lost on the field God has called them! I apologize for those of you who were watching online. We could not stream their presentation for their own safety! I want to encourage you to visit the link above for more information on Lottie Moon. In addition to our regular cooperative giving this offering stays 100% within the missionaries on the field. We will continue to highlight how this offering accomplishes Kingdom work across the globe for the next couple of months. Thank you for your generosity!
I want to also remind you that Operation Christmas Child boxes are due THIS Sunday. Please bring them to the church and leave them on the platform. We will take time in our service to pray over them before we send them out to their new owners.
In addition to yesterday's service we had a wonderful time at the Volunteer Appreciation Dinner. It is crazy to think that this event started in our living room and has grown into what it is. Not many churches can say that over half the church volunteers to do the work of the ministry! A couple of us were talking last night about the reality that 98% of the work is done by 2% of the people in many churches! The Lord is doing something unique here and it is being done so through YOUR faithfulness to Him in response to His faithfulness to us. I say it often but I truly mean it, it is a joy to get to be your Pastor!
I look forward to all God has in store in 2025! |
