Volunteer Help Needed!

For the last several years we have helped with an event hosted at the Weston Red Barn Farm that is put on by Platte Senior Services. On September 19th they have asked if we can help set up and break down again this year.

If you are available to help this day please contact Pastor Ricky and let him know.

Men's Fellowship

The Men's Fellowship gathered this past week and enjoyed time around a good meal and God's Word together. Our next gathering will be on September 20th and we are excited to have good friend, Scott Heidtbrink, with us to teach on evangelism. All FBC Men are encouraged to join us! The gathering starts at 6:00 p.m. and dinner is provided.

FBC Weston Annual Chili & Soup Cook-off

Last year the Nathan & Ashley Pospisil hosted a chili cook-off and it was such a hit we decided we're going to do it again. Plan on joining us for a night of god food, good friends, and good fellowship. Also, this is your chance to take a shot at out cooking our reigning champ, Janie West! There will be a sign up sheet for items to bring and a sign up sheet for the chili/soup cook-off at the Connection/Security Desk this Sunday.

Community Blood Drive

We are partnering with the Community Blood Center and will be hosting a Blood Drive on October 25th from 1-5 p.m. Donate blood and save a life!

Child Safety Training

We are partnering with the Missouri Baptist Children's Home to host a child safety training. This is a training that will be beneficial for all current Children's Ministry volunteers and any who have a desire to serve in this vital ministry in our church. This training is open to any and all at FBC Weston who would like to attend, however. We are also opening this training up to the school and any other local organizations that serve children.

The training is FREE to all attendees.

Mother's Room Facelift

Thank you to members of the Building & Grounds Team that gave the Mother's Room a little TLC. A coat of paint goes a long way! (This is also where the Secret Sister's Table has been relocated!)

A Sister Church Needs Our Help!

From the SJBA Office:

"Hello Associational brothers and sisters!  Scott Foster, pastor at Little Platte Baptist Church in Edgerton, Missouri, just reached out to me regarding storm damage that they sustained this past week.  They are a very small congregation of about 20 people with most elderly and unable to attend to the situation and limited in funds so they are in hopes that within our associational circle we might have a church or some church that could aid them in taking care of the downed trees and branches in the coming weeks. Thankfully nothing hit their church building, but the scope of the cleanup is greater in both weight and volume than they are able to take care of.  The pictures above will give you an idea of the size of the project. The diameter of the largest limbs on each of these trees is between 16 and 24 inches. Scott's cell number is (816)868-3084.  Should you or your church or the DR crew be able to help please reach out directly to him, but also let me know so I can know where this all stands for follow-up later.  My prayer is that we will be able to provide the assistance that our sister church needs and be a huge blessing to them in this time of struggle.  God bless you all!"

Beings Edgerton is so close I thought that this could be something we could potentially help with. Pastor Ricky can help arrange a day if there is someone who would help with taking the lead on assessing the work. If you are able/willing to help please let Pastor Ricky know ASAP.

Michael, Eliza, & Henry Adams

This is Michael & Eliza Adams, the couple that we took time to pray for yesterday morning. Eliza is scheduled to give birth to their son, Henry, tomorrow. I want to encourage you to continue to pray for this very faithful family. I will be taking the time tomorrow to fast and pray for God's continued intervention in Henry's life and for His comfort and care of Michael & Eliza if you sense the Lord's leading to join me. I, also, wanted to share a page where you can offer prayers and any financial support. Access their gofundme by clicking here. FBC Weston was able to make a small contribution from our Benevolence Ministry to help with upcoming costs. Thank you for your faithful giving. Your generosity made this possible!

Pastor's Pen

Brothers & Sisters,

I just wanted to thank you all one more time. Oliver's early arrival certainly threw a wrench in many of our plans. As I stated before, we are learning a lot about trusting in the Lord through it all. From his early arrival, to the complications both Oliver & Autumn had sending us back to the hospital multiple times, to the air conditioning quitting multiple times since he came, to the Jeep breaking down, and adjusting to life with a newborn again we have had one thing that my family is so grateful for; our church. While it has been a whirlwind we cannot express our gratitude enough for all of the meals, the quick jump to action from the Deacons, Building & Grounds Team, & Elder Candidates, all of the timely check-ins, the cards, reinforcements on diapers, wipes, and clothes, and so much more. I keep saying it but you must know that we have never been so cared for in all of our years of ministry. It is so fun to be a part of a church that is truly friends, truly family. Thank you all so very much! We love you dearly!

“...God has so composed the body, giving greater honor to the part that lacked it, that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another. If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together. Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it.” -1 Corinthians‬ ‭12‬:‭24‬-‭27‬ ‭ESV‬‬
