Secret Sisters

The ladies of FBC are gearing up for another season of Secret Sisters. This is a fun way to get to know other women in our church and find ways to bless others. Beginning in August and ending with a party in February, you will be assigned another person to pray for, get to know secretly, and give anonymous gifts. If this is something you would be interested in, please see Becky Henkel or Katie Heidtbrink with any questions and to get an information sheet to fill out. We would like to have those returned by July 28. We've had a great time with this and hope you can join us this season.

Quarterly Family Meeting

Our next Quarterly Family Meeting will be July 21st following service. After the meeting everyone is invited to join us for a light lunch and help get the church ready for VBS!

Missouri Missions Offering

July is the Missouri Missions Offering Month! Every year this offering goes specifically to advancing the Kingdom in our home state. If you would like to give toward MMO you can indicate so on a tithe envelope or check memo.

Mark your Calendars!

For the last several years we have helped with an event hosted at the Weston Red Barn Farm that is put on by Platte Senior Services. On September 19th they have asked if we can help set up and break down again this year. If you are available to help this day please contact Pastor Ricky and let him know.

A group of FBC Women are planning a Ladies Night out to see Chanda Pierce in KCMO.

Pastor's Pen

Brothers & Sisters,

As we continue to make our way through the book of Matthew I do hope that you are growing and encouraged through the Word. There is much to what Jesus teaches us in this one Sermon on the Mount. As we have spent several weeks in this sermon it is easy to forget that Jesus preached this in a single setting. How cool is that?!

We are inching toward the end of July and have much upcoming. Vacation Bible School is NEXT week! Be sure to get your kiddos signed up. We will also have our Quarterly Family Meeting next Sunday and the Hospitality Team is providing lunch following the meeting. We will be putting our heads, hands, and hearts together to get the church decorated and ready for the week.

I also want to make note of something. I always forget about designated offering times. I serve on the board for the Missouri Baptist Convention and STILL forgot about the Missouri Missions Offering. I am working on insuring that I don't keep dropping the ball on this and I have also been talking with the Stewardship Team about being more intentional with these kinds of offerings (MMO, Annie Armstrong, & Lottie Moon). More on that to come! For now, if you are led to give to MMO you can find a link with information above.

The Lord is at work in churches across Missouri and I am grateful to be a part of that with you.
