West Platte Baccalaureate Service |
FBC Weston's own Mitch & Bailee Giger lead the Fellowship of Christian Athletes at West Platte. Every year the FCA students put on a special Baccalaureate Service for graduating seniors.
The service is May 8th at 7:00 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center. Even if you do not have graduating students this is your invitation to come out as a member of FBC Weston and the Weston community to show support.
What a great way to put some skin on being a church that is for the Community! |

The FBC Weston Children's Ministry continues to grow. We are excited to announce that Emma Slump has stepped into an Assistant Children's Ministry Director role. Emma will be helping Autumn with a lot of the administrative work and is here to help our volunteers! She brings a lot of heart to the table and we look forward to having her serve in this way! We wanted to extend a very special thank you to all who were able to stick around for the meeting and lunch after church!
The Children's Ministry is in a great place and only looks to get better! |

The Elder & Deacon Candidates had our first meeting this past Sunday at 3:00 p.m. We gathered to discuss the candidacy and to pray for God's continued work through these next several months. These men will start to take on more roles and leadership as we make our way through the candidacy. Pray for them as they are praying for you! |

Parking Lot Repair Incoming! |
At yesterday's Special Called Family Meeting the Building & Grounds Team shared with the church that 26k has been saved to fix the east side of the circle drive and we need an additional 11k to finish it off. The church voted to spend the money to make the repair! This has been a long time prayer for many! Praise God for His provision through his faithful saints! Thank you to the Building & Grounds Team for your great work. You lead us well! |

Pastor's Pen |
Brothers & Sisters, Yesterday was wonderful. I want to thank Daniel for the powerful sermon he preached from Psalm 1. I was challenged and blessed all at the same time. If you were not able to be at church yesterday, I do encourage you to go and watch or listen to the sermon when you have time this week. I know you will be equally as blessed! I want to let you all know that this will be the last "Life at First Baptist" update you will be receiving for the next couple of weeks. After church on Sunday, May 12th the Sands Family will be on vacation for the next two weeks. We will be taking some extended time away to catch up on a little R&R. Thank you all so very much for allowing us the time. Don't worry! You will be in good hands. Two more of our Elder Candidates will be preaching in my absence. Steve Wahlenmaier & Shawn Duryea both have a heart for the Lord and a heart for this church. I look forward to them shepherding you through the ministry of the word and prayer while I am away. On that note, can I just say... what an answer to prayer! It brings a Pastor's heart a lot of peace knowing that he can step away from his flock for a period knowing that there are a plurality of leaders who have the same mind and heart for the church. This truly allows for me to rest and to connect with my family! I want to encourage you all to keep up to date on everything by utilizing our church app, Facebook page, and website! Links to all of these can be found at the top of the page. There will be activity happening on all of them wile I am away but don't worry... I won't be working. Most of these posts and notifications will be scheduled ahead of time. Other leaders will continue to utilize Breeze to get information out as well. While I am away you can also visit the "Our Team" page and contact any one of our Deacon, Deacon Candidates, or Elder Candidates if you have needs. It is such an exciting season for our church! It is a joy to be on this journey with you. |
