What a wonderful weekend we shared celebrating the resurrection of Jesus! He is risen! He is risen, indeed! A HUGE thank you goes to everyone who made it such a celebratory weekend. From the Hospitality Team, to the parking lot attendants, to the Worship Team, to Rick B. & Shawnee working with our kiddos to open our service, to our greeters, and all who came to worship our great God. It was a wonderful weekend and we get to do it all over again in just a few days! Praise the Lord! |

Pastor's Pen |
Brothers & Sisters, What. A. Weekend!!! It was such a wonderful weekend remembering the cost of our salvation and the resurrection of Christ. I want to share something with you. I have always said and firmly believe that we celebrate stories and not statistics and that we care more about who is here than how many are here... and yet with that said I think we can certainly rejoice when the church is full and I'll explain why. Those statistics are evidence of God's story in the lives of many who have come to call First Baptist Church of Weston home. Statistics are part of God's collective story of His work in our church. Between Good Friday & Resurrection Sunday we saw 214 come through the church. Sunday's service had 157 in attendance. Of those 157 people there were several that would not call themselves followers of Jesus and seeds were planted. Of those 157 people there were many who needed to be encouraged in their faith and reminded of Jesus' faithfulness to them. Of that 157 people dozens lifted their hands and voices in collective unified worship of our great King, Jesus! 157 people all with 157 stories that God is working in and through. The Gospel was preached, seeds were planted, saints were strengthened, and Christ was exalted! Praise Him for what He is doing in those 157 people and praise Him or what He is doing in our church! It is an undeserved privilege to get to be on this journey with you! |
