Church Work Day

The Building & Grounds Team extends a HUGE thank you to all who dedicated a Saturday morning and afternoon to helping do some upkeep around our property. We were able do some touch up painting in both hallways leading into the Sanctuary, begin clean up on the fence line on the north side of our property, power wash the parsonage, clean up the fence line on the parsonage property, seed the grass, tighten up and start staining the playground, and so much more! Keep your ears to the ground for the next work day. We had a great time!

FREE books! We are cleaning out the old church library. These books will remain at the church and are FREE for the taking through the rest of the month.

Our Quarterly Family Meeting was one for the history books! We welcomed 17 people into the First Baptist Family. Please welcome Joe & Kelly Wolf, Dan & Janae Reiter with their kiddos; Maylen, Raegan & Forrest, Kyle & Ashley Haas with their kiddos; Harper, Emery & Truett, and Dylan & Riley Watson with their kiddos; Kendall, Stella & Lorelai to our church family!

We’re also excited to announce our Elder & Deacon Candidates! Please pray for these men as they enter into candidacy to serve as leaders in our church.

Elder Candidates: Shawn Duryea, Steve Wahlenmaier, Mitch Giger, & Daniel Heidtbrink

Deacon Candidates: Andy Harvey, Rod Slump

Shawn Duryea is hosting our next Men's Fellowship Gathering this Saturday at 6:00 p.m. All men are invited and encouraged to join us for a time of fellowship around God's word. Food will be provided!

FBC Weston is hosting the SJBA Semi-Annual Meeting on April 28th.

Please plan on joining us for the St. Joseph Baptist Association's Semi-Annual Meeting this coming Sunday! Everything kicks off at 4:00 p.m. Come worship, enjoy fellowship, and hear about all that God is doing within our association of churches!

West Platte Baccalaureate Service

FBC Weston's own Mitch & Bailee Giger lead the Fellowship of Christian Athletes at West Platte. Every year the FCA students put on a special Baccalaureate Service for graduating seniors. The service is May 8th at 7:00 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center. Even if you do not have graduating students this is your invitation to come out as a member of FBC Weston and the Weston community to show support. What a great way to put some skin on being a church that is for the Community!

There will be a Children's Ministry Volunteer Meeting on Sunday, May 5th following service. Lunch will be provided. If you currently serve in our Children's Ministry or are interested in serving in this growing ministry of our church this is the meeting for you! Plan on joining us!

FBC Weston Women's Conference

Join us on Friday, May 31st for a one night conference hosted by the women of First Baptist! The theme of the conference is "No Matter What" and is rooted in the words of Paul in Philippians 4:4-13. You don't want to miss this! "No matter what, God sustains!" For more information, hit the registration link. Register here!

Vacation Bible School

Pastor's Pen

Brothers & Sisters,

What a wonderful weekend! There's nothing quite like a Church Work Day. We all come together with a shared vision and mission and get to work. I was reflecting on that this weekend. Before we started I remember praying that folks driving by might have a peaked interest in what God is doing here by all the activity they saw. That's because a good Church Work Day is a great illustration of the greater work we all come together for. We are a body of Christ followers with a shared vision and mission of sharing the hope of Jesus. Who knows what seeds of curiosity the Lord may have planted in through our collective efforts to steward our building and grounds well.

Be sure to give a warm welcome to all of our new members and their little ones. You can find the list above. Also, please be in prayer for our Elder & Deacon Candidates. These men have been put forward by you and have a heart to shepherd and serve you well. These next several months are going to iron out what that will look like.

As I shared yesterday, God is on the move here at First Baptist Church of Weston and I'm just so grateful to be along for the ride!
